Physical education is an integral part of the total education system. It helps in the attainment of holistic development. Games and sports play a vital role in a student’s life. A student should study hard to be successful in competitive examinations, but he should also play games and sports to enjoy the health and vigour of life. Sports assist in developing mental health and physical fitness. A student gains different abilities, experience, and trust through participation in sports and games, which help develop their personality.
In line with the objective, a sports activity “AAHWAAN” will be organised by Athleema—the sports club of Asian School of Business—on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, for its students. The activity is named Aahawan as it will mark the beginning of the series of club activities for the students after the long summer break. This activity shall enable the students to have fun, learn new sports, enhance social interaction and test one’s physical capability. These competitions will also offer a break from the daily routine tasks and recreate or re-energize the students.
The following events will be organised for the students on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 1:30pm onwards:
- Kho-Kho
- Tug of War
- Volley Ball
- Basketball
Kho-Kho is a game that takes us back to our childhood and allows the participants to play enthusiastically, portraying their speed and agility. Tug of War is a sport that pits two teams against each other in a test of strength. Basketball and volleyball stimulate the sense of coordination, team spirit, and mind mapping and increase the concentration level.
The students are invited to participate in the activity in any of the categories (maximum 2). It is indeed going to be a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and memories to cherish and will obviously be highly energising after the long summer break.
