Asian School of Business successfully conducted a comprehensive three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from June 25 to 27, 2025, under the ongoing theme “Enhancing Teaching, Learning, and Research Outcomes – II.” The FDP was designed to enhance faculty members’ research competencies through focused sessions on Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and Bibliometric Analysis.
The first day featured a session on Systematic Literature Review, led by Dr. Nishita Pruthi, an esteemed academician with expertise in research methodology. Dr. Pruthi guided participants through the systematic review process, including problem formulation, protocol development, database selection, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and PRISMA flowchart creation. She emphasized transparency, replicability, and rigor in academic reviews. Tools such as Mendeley, Scopus, Google Scholar, and PRISMA were demonstrated, and faculty engaged in hands-on exercises and discussions on applying SLR in their disciplines.
The second and third days focused on Bibliometric Analysis, conducted by Dr. Maroof Ahmad Mir, Dean – Academics, and a recognized expert in bibliometric methods. Dr. Mir introduced participants to citation analysis, h-index, impact factors, and co-authorship networks. He provided hands-on training in VOSviewer, Biblioshiny using R software, and Scopus/Google Scholar databases. Faculty members explored keyword co-occurrence maps, citation trends, thematic mapping, and author productivity metrics using real datasets.
Throughout the FDP, participants appreciated the interactive demonstrations, practical exposure, and structured delivery of content. Both sessions received excellent feedback for their relevance, clarity, and application-oriented approach.
This three-day FDP significantly strengthened faculty members’ ability to conduct high-quality literature reviews and assess scholarly impact, aligning with ASB’s commitment to fostering research excellence and data-driven academic growth.
