The Asian School of Business organized an industrial visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd in Sonepat for BBA and B.COM students on October 9, 2025 accompanied by Dr. Niharika Jaiswal and Prof. Mansi Arora. The purpose of this industry visit was to give students direct exposure to the workings of the probiotic sector, including processes in food manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain operations.
The Yakult team welcomed the group warmly before guiding them through an extensive tour of the production facility. Students’ attended an informative presentation outlining Yakult’s journey, from its inception in Japan to its expansion across more than 40 countries. The session highlighted the product’s formulation and health benefits, particularly the role of Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota in supporting digestive health. The team also discussed Yakult’s distribution network in India, covering retail channels, direct home deliveries, and creative marketing initiatives.
Following the presentation, Ms. Mehak from the Quality Control Department led the tour, offering a thorough explanation of each step in the manufacturing cycle- starting with fermentation, moving through mixing, bottling, and packaging, and ending with storage. Students observed the company’s use of modern technology, strict hygiene practices, and rigorous quality checks that ensure each bottle meets high standards.
An interactive Q&A session, led by Mr. Shagun, allowed students to explore topics such as Yakult’s business framework, innovation in research and development, consumer preferences, and plans for future growth. His responses offered valuable perspectives on both challenges and opportunities within this expanding sector.
The visit concluded with a group photograph that captured the day’s learning experience. As a gesture of appreciation, the students presented the Yakult team with a sapling and a memento.
This industry visit proved to be a significant learning opportunity, enabling students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world industry practices in the field of probiotics.
