Asian School of Business – Orientation Programme 2025 | Day 3

Day 3 of the Orientation Programme 2025 at the Asian School of Business was dedicated to fostering a Campus Connect with the newly inducted students. The session aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of the institution, its culture, academic framework, and the diverse opportunities available to the students.

Campus Connect Session

The session commenced with an address by Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, AEG, who warmly welcomed the students and introduced them to the college’s vision, mission, rules and regulations, code of conduct, and flagship events. His address highlighted the importance of discipline, active participation, and holistic development in shaping students into future leaders.

Introduction of Deans

Following this, the Deans of ASB were formally introduced to the students. Each Dean presented an overview of their respective departments:

 Dr. Maroof Ahmad Mir- (Dean – Academics): Cordially and distinguishedly introduced by the Director Sir, Dr. Maroof Ahmad Mir addressed the gathering with poise and eloquence. In his address, he not only introduced himself but also eloquently articulated the academic ethos of the institution. With warmth and optimism, he extended his heartfelt wishes to the students for the next three transformative years, encouraging them to embrace learning with curiosity and determination.

Dr. Sona Vikas (Dean – Management): Graciously introduced by Director Sir, Dr. Sona Vikas extended a heartfelt and enthusiastic welcome to the students. With her encouraging words and warm demeanor, she set an inspiring tone for their academic journey, motivating them to pursue excellence while making the most of the vibrant opportunities at ASB.

Dr. Sunita Verma (Dean of Student Welfare): Shared insights on student engagement, extracurricular activities, and overall welfare support.

Mr. Ravi Sharma (Dean-Corporate Resource Centre): Explained the avenues of career development, industry exposure, and placement support.

Dr. Shweta Batra (Dean – Examinations): Provided clarity on academic policies, evaluation methods, and assessment guidelines.

Programme-Wise Introductions

The orientation also witnessed the programme-wise introductions, wherein students were warmly welcomed to their respective academic program Incharges.

Each Programme Chair and Convenor took the stage to present an overview of the learning outcomes, and academic journey ahead. Their articulate addresses provided students with a structured roadmap of what to expect in the coming years.

Introduction of Faculties and Cells

The session further highlighted the contribution of various academic and co-curricular cells:

  • RDC (Research & Development Cell)
  • EDIC (Entrepreneurship Development & Innovation Cell)
  • IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell)

Faculty coordinators of each cell introduced their roles and upcoming initiatives, giving students a glimpse of opportunities to participate, contribute, and grow.

Individual Faculty Introduction

The day concluded with individual faculty introductions, allowing students to connect with their professors personally. This created an atmosphere of openness and accessibility, ensuring that students felt welcomed and supported in their new academic environment.

Conclusion

Day 3 successfully bridged the gap between students and the institution, enabling them to understand the academic ecosystem, support structures, and cultural values of ASB. The session ensured that the students began their journey with clarity, confidence, and a sense of belonging to the ASB family
