The government’s main goal is to lower the budget deficit from 5.8% in fiscal year 2023-2024 to 5.1% in fiscal year 2024-2025. The budget includes a staggering 11% increase in capital expenditures to support the nation’s overall economic growth. The finance minister Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman mentioned about the seven priority sectors which are denoted as 7 pillar of saptarishi. These seven priorities are sustainable growth, financial sector, infrastructure & investment, unleash potential, youth power, reach to last mile, and inclusive development.
The Manager’s Club at Asian School of Business hosted “Budget Conclave 6.0” on March 6, 2024, to give students a vision. Students had a platform to express their ideas based on their analyses of previous trends and upcoming needs thanks to this event.
There were twelve teams representing twelve different industries. Speaker from each industry had 10 minutes to speak about their industry explaining the past trends and future requirements. The students were highly motivated to have the hands on experience of budget discussion and also got the opportunity to have a deep understanding of the budget. The past trend analysis and forecasting based on that analysis helped them in developing the analytical skill.
Dr. A. S. Ramnarayanan, carrying 34 years of rich experience from industry as well as academics graced the occasion as the Judge of the event. His presence highly motivated the students and also his valuable insights and suggestions added up to the knowledge and experience of the students. Ms. Apoorvi Jain of B.Com second semester student was announced as the Best Speaker of the session.
Such events play a vital role in the growth and development of the students and make them capable to reach to different horizons in their future endeavour. This event at Asian School of Business helped the students in not only understanding the budget but also interpreting and analysing it to deduce the trend and future requirements in their respective industry.
