Asian School of Business, Noida, organised Cognizance: A Street Theatre Competition under the Community Service Club on December 14, 2022. The competition was organised for all students across batches and courses at the Asian School of Business. Within the activity, students were supposed to form teams of anywhere between 4 and 10 and perform an act for five to 15 minutes with a social message. A total of 24 teams had registered for the activity, of which the eight best teams performed in the main event. Within the activity, all the performing teams gave a very sound message through their acts on topics such as domestic violence, organ donation, saving women from prostitution, gender discrimination, etc.
A panel of judges, consisting of Prof. Mehek, Prof. Soumya, and Prof. Sunita, evaluated the performances of the teams based on criteria such as message delivery, team member coordination, event flow, and substance. The competition featured a number of exceptional performances by all of the teams and their impactful messages, making it difficult for the judges to determine the finalists at times.
Dramatizers, a team with the theme “bad treatment of the elderly in our society,” placed first among the teams that ultimately prevailed as the activity’s winners.
Team Cheekh, with the theme “Save women from prostitution,” took second place, and Team Satrangi, with the title “False Allegations Against Man,” took third place.
Everyone who came to the event, both participants and viewers, picked up some new skills, lessons, and massages. Under the direction of the club’s convenors, Prof. Nehu Gumber and Shyla, the students took part in the activity with great energy and enthusiasm. For the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’s awareness campaign for performance in rural areas, the best performers were chosen.
