CUET is the Common University Entrance Test, a national level examination whose scores are being used for the admissions at all the leading Institutions of the country. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), this test was introduced with the primary objective of providing a common platform and equal opportunity for the students from different boards like CBSE, IB, State Boards etc. CUET strives to provide a single window opportunity to students seeking admission in any of the Central / State Universities and Private Institutions across the country.
Ever since it was launched in 2022, CUET has become the most sought-after competitive entrance exam for undergraduate students. The number of applicants is only growing in lakhs every year. The students are vying for admission to the top institutions of the country and this test provides them a platform to secure a seat in an Institution they aspire. The format and the conduct of the exam are quite structured, standardized and streamlined.
With proper planning and consistent preparation, cracking CUET is not that difficult. There are different sections in the UG-CUET, where knowledge of language and domain subjects is tested. The number and weightage of the questions vary with the program applied for. Understanding of the concepts is more important than rote learning.
This year, this computer-based test is scheduled between May 11 to 31, 2026, after the class XII board exams. Students can choose from different languages, domain subjects and one general aptitude test. Students can attempt the mock tests and previous year question papers for a better preparation. It will help improve speed, accuracy and reduce any exam anxiety. Students will be able to learn to manage their time better. Consistent preparation will also help the students to reduce the exam stress.
