“Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change”– Stephen Hawking

The rise of AI has transformed the job market, creating exciting opportunities for students in both management and computer science fields. The following highlights some key career opportunities and skills required in both the domains.

For Management Students:

  • AI Product Manager: AI product managers are responsible for overseeing the development and deployment of AI-powered products in business, ensuring they align with business goals and user needs.
  • AI Strategy Consultant: Companies seek consultants to guide them for incorporating AI into their operations to improve efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. A background in both management and AI knowledge is required here.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making Roles: Roles like business analysts or data analysts are expanding, as organizations need experts who can interpret AI and machine learning outputs to guide strategic decisions.
  • Project Manager for AI Implementation: Managing AI-based projects involves coordinating between tech teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure successful AI product or solution delivery.
  • Ethics and Policy Consultant for AI: As AI grows, ethical and regulatory concerns are also on high. Management students with an understanding of AI ethics could pursue roles that help businesses navigate these challenges.

Some of the key skills required are understanding of AI and its business applications, strategic thinking and decision-making, strong leadership and communication skills, project management experience.

For Computer Science Students:

  • AI Scientist: As AI continues to advance, researchers and scientists are needed to explore new algorithms, improve machine learning models, and push the boundaries of AI technologies.
  • Machine Learning Engineer: These engineers design, build, and implement machine learning algorithms and models that power AI solutions, ranging from recommendation systems to self-driving cars.

Data Scientist: Data scientists use AI and machine learning to analyze large datasets, extract insights, and help businesses make data-driven decisions.

AI Software Developer: Software developers in the AI space focus on building AI solutions, integrating them into existing systems, or developing new tools that rely on AI capabilities.

AI Infrastructure Engineer: As the demand for AI grows, there’s a need for professionals who can build and maintain the hardware and software infrastructure that supports AI applications (e.g., cloud computing, distributed systems).

Some of the key skills required are proficiency in machine learning, data science, and AI frameworks like Tensor Flow, PyTorch, etc., programming skills in Python, R, Java, etc., understanding of algorithms, data structures, and neural networks.

As AI continues to shape the future, the need for individuals who can both manage and develop AI technologies will only increase, creating a broad range of career opportunities across industries. By taking note on the same, Asian School of Business has curated additional value added courses to cater to these requirements for honing the skills of students in embracing the new technology in their respective domains and thus preparing them industry ready.
