Industrial Visit to Orient Electric Ltd.

The students of B.Com Semester II at the Asian School of Business had the opportunity to visit Orient Electric Ltd., a renowned manufacturer in the electrical consumer goods industry. The visit offered a practical exposure to students from one of India’s leading companies in the sector. The group was accompanied by Dr. Itinpreet Kaur, ensuring the students gained both academic and industrial perspectives.

The visit began with a warm welcome from the company representatives, followed by a brief orientation session. Students were given an overview of Orient Electric’s operations, corporate values, and its market presence both in India and abroad.

The key takeaways from the session included:

  • Corporate Structure and Strategy: Orient’s leadership team discussed the company’s organizational hierarchy, strategic goals, and its adaptation to changing market trends and consumer expectations.
  • Product Portfolio and Innovation: Students learned about Orient’s wide range of products, including fans, lighting solutions, home appliances, and switchgear. Special emphasis was placed on the company’s focus on innovation and energy efficiency.
  • Manufacturing Process: A guided tour of the production floor allowed students to observe the manufacturing of LED lighting systems, including assembly, testing, and quality control procedures.
