In order to provide the students with insight regarding the internal workings of companies, industrial visits are frequently organised at Asian School of Business. An industrial visit, with the goal of going beyond academics, gives students a practical perspective on the world of work.
On February 22, 2023, BCA 3rd Semester and BCA 5th Semester students visited the ALT Training Center at BSNL. Ms. Swasti Uppal, manager of the CRC, and Ms. Suvidha Agarwal, faculty, accompanied the 49 students on the visit.
On their arrival at the office of BSNL, all the students were very excited to learn more about the upcoming technologies. The students were provided full insight on telecommunications: what it is, how it is used, what its subsets are, and why it is leading in the market. Students gained a new perspective and were eager to learn more about it from the officials of BSNL.
Students were then formed into groups and given briefings on various networking devices. They were shown different switches, routers, and circuits and were shown the workings of BSNL communication through its routers and various cables.
The students were also trained on various programming tools and how data passes through various cables. They got to know how communication takes place and the entire hierarchy of a telephone call. The briefing gave the students a whole new insight into the function of the sector, and they got practical knowledge from experts on the terms that they hear every day.
Thus, through the visit, students got to know the real applications of various computing technologies and could relate to them in an efficient manner.
