20 September 2024- Day 2 of the Orientation Program at the Asian School of Business (ASB) was an enriching and energetic experience, aimed at ensuring a smooth onboarding for the new batch. The day began with the Campus Connect session, where incoming students were introduced to key individuals across departments, laying the foundation for a supportive and connected campus life.
The session was kicked off by an inspiring speech from our dynamic Chairman, Dr. Sandeep Marwah. In his address, Dr. Marwah emphasized the importance of innovation, adaptability, and the pursuit of excellence. He encouraged students to embrace challenges, develop a global mindset, and leverage their education to make a meaningful impact on society. His speech left a lasting impression, motivating students to approach their academic journey with passion and purpose.
Following Dr. Marwah, Director Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava set an empowering tone for the students’ three-year journey, envisioning a path of not only academic growth but also personal transformation. He emphasized financial independence, responsibility, and holistic development as the pillars of their undergraduate program.
The Deans, Program Heads, Student Welfare team, Examination Department, Career Resource Centre (CRC), Centre for Skill Development (CSD), and faculty members introduced themselves, laying the foundation for students’ academic and personal journey. This introduction offered students a clear and comprehensive understanding of the extensive support network that will guide them throughout their time at ASB.
The highlight of the day was the Start-Up Idea of the Year competition, which was a significant part of the Orientation Program. The event was graced by Mr. Mani Dev Gayawali, Co-Founder of The New Shop, who also served as the judge for the competition. In his keynote address, Mr. Gayawali emphasized that a successful startup must be built on passion, as this ensures success—whether through financial gain or valuable lessons learned.
Six finalists presented their innovative ideas, all of which were critically acclaimed. The standout winner, Mili Rastogi, wowed the judges with her extraordinary business idea, earning her the coveted title. She was awarded an iPad, a trophy, and a certificate from ASB in recognition of her achievement.
The day concluded with an electrifying Talent Hunt Competition, which showcased breathtaking performances in categories such as singing, solo dance, group dance, and band performances. The event was judged by the well-known Indian actor Mr. Manjot Singh, who brought a touch of stardom to the proceedings. Harsh Pandey, the winner of the talent competition, was awarded an Apple Smart Watch, a trophy, and a certificate for his exceptional performance.
Overall, Day 2 of the orientation program was a perfect blend of inspiration, innovation, and talent, leaving students motivated and excited for the journey ahead. The events provided a platform for students to connect, express their creativity, and begin their transformative journey at ASB.
