On 17th September 2024, the Asian School of Business (ASB) conducted a tree plantation drive as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, an initiative launched by the Government of India and endorsed by AICTE. Held on the ASB campus, the event saw active participation from students and faculty members, reflecting the institution’s dedication to promoting environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Organized by the Community Service Club under the auspices of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), the drive underscored ASB’s ongoing commitment to contributing meaningfully to national environmental initiatives.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Maroof Ahmad Mir, Dean of Academics, and Dr. Sona Vikas, Dean of Management, along with the Program Chairs, conveners, and other distinguished faculty members. Their participation, alongside that of the students, highlighted ASB’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
The primary objective of the drive was to support the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign’s goal of enhancing green cover and promoting environmental awareness. During the plantation drive, all attendees actively participated in planting activities and took a formal pledge to champion a greener and cleaner environment. This pledge underscored the importance of adopting sustainable practices and making meaningful contributions to environmental conservation.
The plantation drive significantly contributed to the enhancement of the ASB campus’s greenery while simultaneously elevating awareness about the critical role of afforestation in addressing environmental challenges. This initiative underscored ASB’s steadfast commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and its dedication to environmental education. By engaging in this activity, participants were afforded a valuable opportunity to make a tangible and positive impact on the ecosystem.
The event culminated with a unified commitment to the ongoing care and maintenance of the newly planted saplings, ensuring ASB’s long-term contribution to environmental sustainability. As we continue our efforts, we proudly embrace the slogan: “Grow Green, Live Clean.”
