In the last 10 years INDIA has seen a huge increase in the number of startups. The number of startups increased from 7000 in 2008 to 50000 in 2018. A large part of these startups are ran by youth and young adults. In this era where we have a startup ecosystem all round, Asian School of Business successfully conducted the 6th installment of the business plan competition “IDEATHON 6.O” on 27th October,2023. The major agenda behind IDEATHON is to promote the essence of entrepreneurship among the students of not only Asian School of Business but also students from outside colleges. Around 33 external teams participated in the event including Tier I colleges like IIM Calcutta & IIM Indore.
The Entrepreneurship Development & Incubation Center in collaboration with IIC at Asian School of Business is working with a constant endeavor to recognize, sustain and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit amongst the students.
Through this we promote students to express their business ideas and plans in order to win cash prize as a seed fund. Students can come with their business ideas and plans and can search for some as well. Through this we encourage students to not only enhance themselves as ambitious entrepreneurs, but also as a great presenters, planners, etc. It can also help students to brain storm and to go in-depth about understanding various business aspects.
The Business Plan Competition is organized every year at the Asian School of Business, Noida for students to present their innovative ideas and skills to a panel of eminent industry and entrepreneurial experts. This promotes ‘out of the box thinking’ in the students, thus providing the potential entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their dream business ideas and to assess its commercial viability.
In the first round of the competition on 26th October,2023 around 45 teams presented their business plans to an esteemed panel of judges.
In the second-round the selected students pitched their plan to entrepreneurship experts in a limited frame of time, in the form of a summary of their Business Plan.The chief guests & judges of the event was Mr Mahesh Shuka (Founder Payme) & Mr Kisshhan Psv (CEO & Founder H Bots Robotics). The attractiveness of the idea to investors was be the basis for deciding the winner.
The winner was Shivam Sharma, a student from National Institute of Securities Market, Mumbai.The event concluded with felicitating the guests & vote of thanks by Ms Priyanshi Sharma (EDIC convener)
