The ASB BBA and BCA Students Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram Under ASB CSR Club Activity
The ASB BBA and BCA students visited Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram (old age home) which is situated in Gautampuri, New Delhi, September 18th, 2019 under ASB CSR Club Activity. Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram is the brain Child of SHOWS (Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphan Welfare Society) and is a “home away from home” for the abandoned elderly of our country.
The ASB BBA and BCA students had open-heartedly worked hard for preparing for the visit. The students organized a fundraiser, clothes collection drive and created handmade greeting cards with personal wishes. They also practiced for performing various cultural programs at Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram.
ASIANITIES distributed the clothes and greeting cards made for the inmates of Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “It was overwhelmingly obvious how happy and excited the inmates were on receiving the cards. They had stories to share with us, in return. Stories of how they were thrown and abandoned in markets and bus stands by their own children whom they had raised. There hope that one day someone would come in search of them, is keeping them going,” explained our student Tawishi Thakur.
The ASB students shared that it felt like more than a usual curriculum activity; it was an opportunity to penetrate into the unknown, hypocrite society and see what was happening. They narrated their various stories and mentioned that they were most concerned about making people happy. This was a precious opportunity for the ASIANITIES for selfless service provided by the ASB CSR club.
