Employing a holistic competitive format to evaluate students’ wit, fitness, and talent, Asian School of Business organized its much-awaited grandiose event, Student of the Year 2023. Aimed at ensuring the 360-degree development of the students, the event witnessed an unprecedented vibrancy and vivacity amongst the 300 participants who competed to reach the top ten finalists of Batch 2020 and 2021.
Driven by the zeal to identify the one who puts all his best endeavors to win the title, the event was divided into three rounds; IQ, sports, and Talent/Cultural round. The top ten students were mentored by the assigned mentors who encouraged them to fight with confidence and guided them on their performances. Students showcased various talents in the form of classical dance, contemporary dance, classical & fusion singing, story narration, playing piano, poem recitation, a mime act, dramatics, artistic creativity, and many more. The final event was judged by Ms Ritu Puri, the Miss Gorgeous Diva of India and the youngest Model 2018. Kushagra Yadav, a student of BBA Batch 2022 grabbed the title of Student of the Year 2023 with a trophy and a cash prize of 1 lakh whereas Apoorva Pandey, a student of BBA Batch 2021 grabbed a direct entry to the top 10 finalists of Student of the Year 2024, in addition to winning an HP laptop.
For each category, there were a number of clearly thought out assessment criteria. Besides IQ, Sports & Talent round, the judges also took account of students’ presentation skills, confidence, public speaking, and verbal eloquence. The aim was not only to identify and reward excellence but also to value cooperation and encourage a mindset that understands the need to work hard and face every challenge with utmost confidence—by participating in the Student of the Year Award 2023 nominees got the chance to tell their own story and perhaps clarify some longer-term goals.
