With an aim to acquaint young minds with social awareness, self – reliance, and teamwork, Community Service Club at ASB is pleased to announce-“Cognizance- A Street Theatre Competition” on 14th Dec 2022.
Nukkad natak also known as “STREET THEATRE” is a popular form of art well known for its way of delivering and discussing social issues and messages.
Without the use of any artistic props or music this simple form of THEATRE still sends a message to the society. The activity is an effective platform to display art, creativity, and wittiness and convey a strong social message through a powerful street play.
Through this activity, we encourage students to form teams of anywhere between 4-10 and perform an act of 5-15 minutes. The top performers will be given a chance to perform in places like malls, villages, etc. Judgment parameters include- Delivery of the message,- Coordination among the team members. -Flow of events and the content.
Important points to consider
– No team should exceed the time limit and the required number of people.
-No team should use any foul language, gestures, or props to any extent.
Violation of any of the above rules will lead to disqualification.
Selection of the themes for the activity will be the choice of the team members only, important point to consider is that the theme should be social theme only.
Some suggestions for theme selection are- • Drug abuse • Corruption • Women’s safety and insecurities • Poor treatment of the elders in our society.
