Asian School of Business would be organizing Annual Inter College Cultural Fest – “KESSHET 2019” – on 17th January 2019 at its campus in Noida.

Carrying the theme of ‘Rejuvenating Colors of Youth’, “KESSHET 2019” is intended to be a platform to position students of various streams and institutions under one common roof of participation to explore, learn, share and innovate. It is a perfect blend of an array of colorful activities ranging from literary bent to theatre-based events and cultural events amongst others.

It provides a wonderful platform to the student community at large to showcase different shades of their skill, talent, creativity and knowledge.

The Fest draws the best talent from more than 100 institutes across the nation, covering areas ranging from music and drama to literary events, games and creative explosion in graffiti spreading various colours at AEG campus.

The event comprises of 13 events divided into 4 groups classified as A, B and C and Flagship Groups. An individual can participate only in one activity under Group A, B and C. For illustration, “A” Group comprises of activities like Graffiti and T-Shirt Painting as well as Funk Out of Junk. An individual can participate only in one of the above mentioned events.

RULES & REGULATIONS – EVENT WISE

Complete details about all the events as well as the respective set of rules and regulations is mentioned hereafter.

 Group A

(You may choose any of the 2 events mentioned below)

  1. Graffiti and T-Shirt Painting

You need to create your own Wall painting or T-Shirt Painting that shall be based on a theme.

Rules and Regulations

  1. A team shall comprise of 2 members
  2. The participants are supposed to carry T-Shirt, glue, colors and brushes on their own
  3. Time Duration for the activity is 60 minutes
  4. Theme will be disclosed 15 minutes before the start of competition
  5. Spot registrations are allowed
  6. The judgment criteria shall be based on creativity, connectivity with the theme, use of colours and general appeal.
  7. Participants need to come up with an explanation in front of judges
  8. Decision of the Judges will be final and binding
  1. Funk Out of Junk

With the ever increasing problem of generation of waste in our society, predominantly from households and industries, we now require a very innovative approach to get rid of the same. This event is to bring such ideas to notice of students and help them to think on ways of recycling waste material that will not only reduce the waste but provide them with useful household products as well.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Each team shall consist of two members.
  2. Participants shall be allowed 1 hour to show their creativity and 2 minutes to talk about the same.
  3. The required waste material and stationery like scissors, thread etc. should be brought by the participants on their own.
  4. Waste material could be anything like tetra packs, used bottles, old newspapers, old utensils, jute material or any second-hand items.
  5. The material would be rejected if not found to be a waste product or second-hand item.
  6. No ready or semi-finished model or matter would be accepted.
  7. Participants will be judged based on Creativity, Utilization of Resources, Artistic composition & design, Eco-friendly rating, Utility of the Product and Overall Presentation
  8. No mobile or Internet means shall be allowed to be used during competition.
  9. The decision of the judges will be final and binding. 

Group B Events

(Choose any one event out of the 4 as mentioned below) 

  1. Nukkad Natak

Nukkad Natak being a form of communication is deeply rooted in the Indian tradition. It breaks the barriers of formal presentations and aims to approach the issues and concerns of the masses directly. Long before Broadway reinvented theatre with its grand sets and invisible microphones, there was the street. As is said, “The world’s a stage and all the men and women are merely players” – a place to voice your concerns. Street play or ‘Nukkad Natak’ is an art that encompasses entertainment with community education. It has always been an effective medium to propagate social messages and influence people. Join the youngsters in their quest; get beguiled by the boisterous voices; question, ponder, wonder! Let the spirit reside within you!”

Rules and Regulations

  1. The theme of the play can be based on any social issue.
  2. All the registered teams will have to mail a write up about the concept of the play, the social cause being addressed to and the reason why the team has chosen the particular theme. The mail has to be send on kessheteg@gmail.com
  3. Play may be in English or Hindi.
  4. The time limit per team is 13+2 minutes. Points will be deducted for exceeding the time limit. An introduction of participants is necessary after the play but not included in the time limit.
  5. Use of vulgarity would lead to elimination of the team.
  6. Use of mikes, lights and make up is not allowed.
  7. No props will be provided. Teams may use props if they want, for which prior permission from the Coordinator is necessary. Points would be deducted for use of props without permission.
  8. Teams must arrive at the venue atleast 60 minutes before the event starts.
  9. Teams will be evaluated based on creativity, content, passion, performance and adherence to time limits.
  10. The decision of judges will be final and binding on all.
  11.  Participants need to register on the morning of day of event, even if nominated before.
  1. Duplicate Dialogue Bazzi

Each of the teams will be provided with a video clip a day before the event. They have to re-dialogue the whole scene and present it in a more hilarious and comical manner. The best humorous act under the following guidelines will be judged as the winner.

Rules and Regulations

  1. No. of members in a team shall be restricted to 4
  2. Only 1 team from a particular college can participate
  3. Duration of the act would be 3-4 minutes
  4. Students need to prepare their own dialogues to make the event humorous.
  5. Words used for dialogues should not sound vulgar to the judges otherwise they have the right to stop the act.
  6. Video clip provided would be of 3-4 minutes duration.
  7. The video will be send a day before the event.
  8. Quality of judgment will be on the basis of sense of humor, laughter component & the quality of the complete act.
  9. The final results will be under the sole discretion of the judges.
  1. Solo Singing

If singing is your forte, the singing competition Kesshet 2019 – Season 6 is your ultimate stop.

Rules and Regulations

  1. The song need to be in Hindi/English/Punjabi.
  2. Teams will be finalized on the basis of auditions (as per discretion of the judges)
  3. Participants will not be allowed to carry lyrics while performing on the stage.
  4. Participants need to sing along with any karaoke or any musical instrument; they should get their own karaoke tracks and musical instruments.
  5. Time limit is 3-4 minutes per participant. Participant is liable to be disqualified if he/she exceeds time limit.
  6. Winners will be selected on the basis of quality of voice, selection of song, control on breathing, coordination with karaoke and instrument.
  7. Decision of judges shall be final.
  1. Hamari Adalat

It is an attempt to harness the public opinion on relevant and prevailing social issues. The event will help the participants to speak out their mind on issues having an impact on society at large. The program envisages the knowledge, awareness and sensitivity to socio legal aspects of society and nation as a whole.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Each Team needs to have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 participants.
  2. The participants will be in the capacity of 1 as an interviewer, 1 as an interviewee and rest as audience.
  3. The interviewer will ask questions to interviewee regarding the prevailing current legal and social issues.
  4. The audience of the team will also be required to share their views on the topic.
  5. The team will be adjudged on the basis of content, knowledge, command over the issue, deliberation on the given topic.
  6. The topics/theme for discussion will be allotted to teams by draw of lots which will take place on the date of competition.
  7. Each team will get 15 minutes to perform and discuss the topic assigned to them by draw of lots. The initial 5 minutes shall be provided to the concerned team to discuss amongst themselves.

Group C Events

(Choose any one event out of the 4 as mentioned below)

 

  1. War of Brains (General Quiz)

This is a chance for you to exhibit high levels of general awareness.

Rules and Regulations

  1. To begin with, shortlisting of the teams shall be carried out as only 6 teams shall participate in the final round on stage. Each team would be given a set of question paper containing 25 multiple choice objective type questions for purpose of shortlisting
  2. It shall be a team event with each team comprising of 2 members
  3. The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile phones or other electronic instruments.
  4. The questions shall be in the form of multiple choice, True/False statement, Specific-answer question, audio or video based etc
  5. The event shall be held in multiple rounds
  6. Specific Rules and Regulations of individual rounds shall be let known at time of event
  7. Audience shall not give any hints or clues to the competitors. In such cases, the particular question can be cancelled by the Quiz Master
  8. Decision of Quiz Master shall be final and binding upon one and all
  1. Wizard – Computer Game

                LAN Gaming

                Game Name:     Need for Speed (NFS)

Rules and Regulations

  1. Participants shall be divided into batches of four each. It may vary also depending the number of participants.
  2. At the end of Round One, the leading participant shall be selected for the next round and so on till the time we have a winner.
  3. There should not be any discussion between participants or use of any unfair means.
  4. Individual players have to show their race timings to the event coordinator.
  5. Intentional Disruption will lead to disqualification.
  6. Battle of Bands

This is your band’s chance to play in front of more than 1000 people. Battle of Bands shall shoot your band to stardom with insane publicity, coverage and prizes.

Rules and Regulations

  1. No. of bands allowed per college is limited to 1
  2. Time limit for performing is 20 minutes (Including set up time)
  3. Bands need to carry their own musical instruments.
  4. Bands will be pre-assigned performance slots randomly. The same will be intimated to the participants latest by 15th January 2019.
  5. Bands are expected to adhere to the schedule. Any exchange of slots will only be allowed on mutual agreement.
  6. If a band misses its slot, they will not be guaranteed the opportunity to perform.
  1. Case Analysis

Do you have a bend towards managerial skills and do you believe that you can plan strategies while working for Corporate? If yes, you may try your hand at Case Analysis.

Rules and Regulations

  1. The participant/team will be given a case study on the date of the fest. The participants/teams must then make a presentation within the given stipulated time on the analysis of that particular company.
  2. The participants/teams will be scrutinized according to their analysis and justifications presented.
  3. Each team can have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 members. All the members need to be from same college.
  4. Any participant cannot be part of more than one team.
  5. No change of team structure is permitted after the team is registered.

Flagship Events

(You can participate in all the events as mentioned below)

  1. Group Dance and Solo Dance

Dance is all about keeping up with the rhythm. About expressing your angst, anger, love, fear, frustration and silence.

Here every group has a story to tell! Keeping up with the beats, synchronizing their every move, these crews will strum your heart strings, as they fight it out for the most sought-after dance. So, come tell your story, or watch one unfold at Step up (group dance).

Group Dance

You may choose of the themes like Classical, Freestyle, Regional or Western

Rules and Regulations

  1. Each team shall be provided a time slot of 8 minutes to perform which includes the time taken for stage set up.
  2. Minimum number of participants per team is 8 whereas the upper limit is 15 members.
  3. Best 10 performances will be selected for finals based on the auditions.
  4. Inflammable objects, water and heavy objects are NOT allowed on the stage.
  5. No indecent behavior will be tolerated during the performance.
  6. Any team that fails to perform during their allotted slot will be disqualified and no other alternate slots shall be provided.
  7. During the event, teams are requested to take care of their belongings themselves.
  8. Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, Formation, Expression, Costumes, Make-up, and overall Effect.
  9. Decision of the Judges shall be final and binding.

Solo Dance

Freedom is exhilarating. Freedom to dance in your style brings out the best in you. So impress us with your bollywood  jhatkas or hollywood dance or your own indigenous style or just be yourself. Dance like nobody is watching and take the prize away.

Theme: Classical, Freestyle, Regional, and Western

Rules and Regulations

  1. Best 10 performances shall be selected for finals based on the auditions.
  2. Maximum of 2 participants are allowed from a particular college.
  3. Participants should submit their tracks in a Pen drive (name and details should be mentioned on it).
  4. No fire, water and heavy objects should be used on stage. No props are allowed.
  5. No indecency will be tolerated.
  6. Judgment will be based on the qualities like Taal, Technique, Synchronization, Rhythm, Abhinaya or Expression, Costumes, Footwork and general impression etc
  7. Decision of judges shall be final and binding.
  1. Walk the Ramp (Fashion Show)

A flamboyant fashion show which will showcase the creativity and ingenuity of students to depict attires in synchronization with the given themes. The activity shall comprise of the ramp walk with exquisite display of costumes and designs based on the themes given below:

  1. Retro
  2. Indo – Western
  3. Elements of nature
  4. Ethnic
  5. Halloween
  6. Crazy and unconventional theme

Teams will be required to select any one theme from the above defined list.

Note: Selection of teams will be on first come first serve basis.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Each team can have a maximum of 15 members.
  2. Only one team will be allowed from a particular college.
  3. Teams need to bring all props, costumes, music and accessories etc that they need for the show.
  4. Material Requirement – Teams will carry their own accessories and props and stage changes will be allowed as per feasibility of the organizers.
  5. Performance time: 10-15 minutes. Marks will be deducted if a particular team exceeds the allotted time frame.
  6. Teams need to report at the venue at least 2 hours before the start of event.
  7. Music and other audio/video content needed by the team for their show should be handed over to the authorities well in advance.
  8. Please ensure that there is no form of obscenity, vulgarity in the presentation, or any derogatory action that could generate offence to any religious sentiments.
  9. Criteria for the judgment will be on the basis of costumes, formations, style, depiction of theme, choice of music, poise and expressions and overall creativity.
  10. Decision of the judges will be final and binding on all.
  1. Admania

Rules and Regulations

  1. There shall be a maximum of six teams in the final round
  2. A team shall comprise of 3 or 4 members
  3. The teams will be required to make Advs of the products/service of their choice
  4. Each team will have 2 minutes each to present the Adv
  5. The Advs should be creative & original
  6. No vulgarity & obscenity is allowed in Advs
  7. The judging criterion would be the creativity, Adv strategy, theme, clarity of message & presentation.
  8. Decision of the judges shall be final.
  9. A copy of Adv needs to be submitted one day before the Scheduled contest.
