In the latest Distinguished Lecture Series – An Expert Talk, ASB hosted Mr. Romesh Srivastava, Editor in Chief, SightsIn Plus. Mr. Romesh interacted with students on the topic “Career trends in human resources” on 22 Oct 2018.
Mr. Romesh has been serving the various organizations on senior roles and currently he is Editor in Chief of SightsIn Plus. SightsIn Plus is the monthly HR magazine which emphasizes on latest HR practices into industry and comes up every month with new edition of happenings into HR fraternity. Mr. Romesh began with sharing his wisdom on recent changes happened into HR and how typical HR department has become a strategic decision maker in business.
He stated that now HR is not just a department to hire people and complete joining formalities but it is now a business partner and then he went on sharing his own real life experiences. He also shared the importance of social media in HR now and the value of social profiles like LinkedIn & Facebook. He stated that now organizations are hiring directly through LinkedIn & Facebook profile so one must build an attractive profile adding your correct credentials. At the culmination of the session, he encouraged students to ask their doubts & myths about HR and he answered all the questions in brief.
