Inter College Business Plan Competition – IDEATHON 2020 “Shark Tanks-Pitch your Business Idea”

The Entrepreneurship Development & Incubation Centre (EDIC) at Asian School of Business, Noida working with a constant endeavor to recognize, sustain and encourage the entrepreneurial streak amongst the student community, organized an Inter College Business Plan Competition by the name of IDEATHON 2020 “Shark Tanks – Pitch your Business Idea” on 7 Feb 2020 within the campus premises.

The main purpose of this Inter College Business Plan Competition was to enable students to present their innovative ideas and skills to a panel of eminent industry and entrepreneurial experts for critical evaluation.

The event was held over two rounds with all the participating teams presenting their ideas in front of experts comprising of Dr. Ajay Talwar, Business Head, Bosch Security and Safety Systems; Prof. RK Chandra, Former Advisor at NIESBUD and Mentor, Consultant & Senior Advisor for Sustainable Business and Enterprise Creation, Three I Consulting & Advisory; Mr. Sriwant Wariz, IIM Calcutta Alumnus and a leading entrepreneur.

After going through the initial round of presentations, the experts shortlisted seven teams for the second and final round wherein the teams had to pitch their plan to entrepreneur experts in the form of a summary of their Business Plan.

The seven teams that qualified for the second round went on to pitch in front of Mr. Amit Rathi, Entrepreneur and formerly Vice President, Sales & Operations, Vodafone; Mr. Sumit Srivastava, Vice President – Operations, Bennett & Coleman Group; and Prof. RK Chandra, Former Advisor at NIESBUD and Mentor, Consultant, & Senior Advisor for Sustainable Business and Enterprise Creation, Three I Consulting & Advisory.

The day did witness some novel ideas from students representing various educational institutes.

Based on the uniqueness of ideas, operational plans, market research, financial plan, marketing plan and attractiveness to investors, the jury decided that the team comprising of Deepanshu, Jalmeen and Jagjot Kaur from Sri Guru Gobind College of Commerce, Delhi as best of the lot.

The second position was bagged by Prateek Choudhary, Piyush Vijay and Vaibhav Batra representing Asian School of Business, Noida.

At the end of the event, the eminent guests along with Dr. Maroof Ahmad Mir, Associate Dean, Asian School of Business distributed certificates to all the participants, whereas the winning team received a cash prize of Rs. 10000 as well.
