Go Green 2.0 : National Short film Contest

As the world advances by leaps and bounds with each passing day, one word that has become imperative is ‘sustainability’. Environment sustainability is a global concern and in the direction to promote a vision of a sustainable and environmentally friendly institution, the club strives to raise awareness and understanding of environmental issues among the students, as future managers. Throughout the year, Prakriti Club organizes various Green Campus activities in which the students play an integral part.

Towards the objective of the club an activity “Go Green 2.0, -National Short Film Competition” was organized by Prakriti, the Environment Club at Asian School of Business on 7th April 2022 at its Noida campus.  Within the film contest, the students were supposed to submit short films (individually / team) in three categories to reflect on environmental awareness, the connection between biodiversity and society, and global environmental-social problems in the form of cartoons, animation, interviews, puppet film, documentary, etc.

Overall 156 participants, comprising 110 entries, representing 45 institutions throughout India participated in the activity. A total of 10 films were shortlisted for round 2 i.e. for screening on the day of the activity. The films will be judged based on parameters-   Content Originality, Sound Quality, Message portrayed, and Overall presentation. The activity was judged by volunteers from the Isha foundation who joined the initiative on the day of the screening of the Short films. On the occasion, the volunteers guided the students on the importance of a sustainable way of life and the importance of soil in our ecosystem. In the end, Punit Aswal from ASB and Shreya Joshi from IIMT was adjudged as the winner and runner-up respectively.

The activity was able to make students aware and instill stewardship towards the environment of the various environmental issue while preparing the films and the screening.
