SOTY 2023 – Grand Finale

Relying on a competition format to evaluate students’ wit, fitness, and talent, Asian School of Business organised its much-awaited grandiose event, Student of the Year 2023. The event provided a great chance to recognise the diverse talents of the students of Batch 2021 and 2020, giving them the credit they deserve for outstanding achievements in the IQ round, sports round, and talent/cultural round. For each category, there were a number of clearly defined assessment criteria. Besides the IQ, sports, and talent rounds, the judges also took account of the students’ presentation skills, confidence, public speaking, and verbal eloquence. The aim is to identify and reward excellence, but also to value cooperation and encourage a mindset that understands the need to work hard and face every challenge with utmost confidence. By taking part in the Student of the Year Award 2023, nominees got the chance to tell their own story and, perhaps, clarify some longer-term goals. With a total of 300 nominations, the event saw enthusiastic participation that raised the curiosity to become the first Student of the Year. The semi-final round took place on May 17 and 18, respectively, where the top ten students of both batches were selected for the final round. The final round took place on May 23, where students competed again in all three rounds, giving each other tough competition. The top ten students were mentored by the assigned faculty, who prepared them to fight tough and gave them guidance and advice on their performances. Students showcased various talents in the form of classical dance, contemporary dance, classical and fusion singing, story narration, piano instrumentation, poem recitation, mime act, dramatics, artistic creativity, and many more. The final event was judged by Ms. Ritu Puri, Miss Gorgeous Diva of India, and the youngest model of 2018. Kushagra Yadav, a student of BBA Batch 2020, grabbed the title of Student of the Year 2023 with a trophy and a cash prize of 1 lakh, whereas Apoorva Pandey, a student of BBA Batch 2021, grabbed a direct entry into the top 10 finalist list for Student of the Year 2024 and won a HP laptop.
