Dr. Sona Vikas is Professor and Dean-Management at the Asian School of Business. A BA (Eng.) Hons. from Delhi University, UGC NET qualified, she is a University topper and gold medalist during post-graduation in tourism from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore. She has additionally done MBA in Marketing Management from SCDL Pune. She is a PhD in Management from IP University Delhi. She has extensive work experience of 25 years in both industry and academics. She was associated for about 7 years in the travel industry in HR & Quality. She had developed the Process Manual & Training Manual at Galileo India, as well as spearheaded the training function there. She shifted to academics in 2007, when she was selected as the first PhD Fellowship Scholar at University School of Management Studies, GGSIP University, Delhi. She has successfully completed Online Executive Education Programme in Human Resource Analytics from IIM Rohtak (2023). She has done certification courses in ‘Training of Trainers’ from IIT Roorkee (2023); ‘Training and Development’ from IIT Kharagpur (2022); Talent Acquisition and Management from IIT Roorkee (2022).
She has been invited as a resource person to conduct FDPs and MDPs by several renowned organizations. Having excellent communication and presentation skills, she conducts soft skills training sessions for corporates, PSUs, school & college students and teachers. She is adept in the entire process of training needs analysis, instructional design, use of pedagogical tools, content development, preparing the training calendar and training implementation. She has been involved in GD / Job Interview preparation, career guidance and mentoring of MBA students since 2007.
She has written more than 100 research papers in International and national journals (which are indexed in SCOPUS, WOS, ABDC, UGC – Care and Google Scholar), international and national conferences, proceedings and edited books. She has published 2 text books and 6 edited books. She has published 2 patents. She has been bestowed with the Award for ‘Excellence in Leadership and Team Building,’ at The NorthCap University in September 2023. She won the Research Excellence Award, 2022 by Institute of Scholars, registered under the Ministry of MSME & Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India. She was awarded the Best Faculty Award at IILM University for MBA programs in 2019 & 2021. A Master Trainer for IICA run CSR program under the aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs (GoI), she is well versed of the Companies Act 2013 amendments related to CSR.
One research scholar has been awarded a PhD under her supervision.
She has held various positions including HOD, Assistant Dean, Program Director – MBA, Associate Dean – International Relations, Public Relations Officer and Head-Trainings & Placements, engaged in both academic and administrative roles during her academic tenure. She has implemented transdisciplinary learning and led students in several community outreach projects as well.
Her areas of teaching and research interest are: HR, OB, CSR, Ethics and Tourism.
