
Ms. Deena Gurung is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Asian School of Business. She earned her M.Phil. in Economics from Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan, and her Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Madras. She has further pursued advanced academic coursework at the University of North Bengal to complement her research and teaching expertise.
Over the past six years, she has contributed to teaching and research at esteemed private universities and a central university. Over an extended period, she has conducted research on agricultural contraction and the implications for food sovereignty in the Eastern Himalayan belt. She has also contributed to a major ICSSR-sponsored research project. Her work has appeared in the proceedings of national and international conferences, notably the Indian Society for Ecological Economics (INSEE) Conference. Her research agenda spans Development Economics, Agricultural Economics, Migration Studies, and Applied Econometrics.
